Miguel Oliveira (KTM) qualified in 10th place for the Valencia Grand Prix, the penultimate race of the season, and after entering directly into Q2, he is confident of a good result on Sunday.
The Portuguese also led the standings at the start of Q2, the fastest being Italian Franco Morbidelli.
“It was a good day. In the morning we started guaranteeing a place in Q2. I did a very positive fourth training session, with the race setting. In qualifying it started to drizzle and it was difficult to see how far I could pull the tires. At the last exit I managed to improve my time, but on the last lap I was unable to brake for the second corner. We started a bit behind, but I’m confident we can make up a lot of positions, ”said the rider, who believes that if he starts well he will get a good pace.
Joan Mir only qualified in 12th place, but could win the MotoGP world title this Sunday.
