The Bowington Management agency announced the sad news through its official Twitter account.
“May the force be with him, always! Although famous for playing many monsters, for me and for everyone who knew Dave and worked with him, he was a hero in our lives,” said the agent of the actor, Thomas Bowington.
British weightlifting champion Prowse was also cast to play Darth Vader due to his two-meter height and 118kg weight.
However, it was another actor who lent his voice to the mythical character in the final montage of the saga.
In addition to the iconic franchise, Prowse has also participated in other films such as A Clockwork Orangeby Stanley Kubrick. He also played the Frankenstein monster three times. After his famous role in Star Wars, he has moved away from the world of cinema and devoted himself to his gym in London. In 2000 he received the Order of the British Empire for promoting a road awareness campaign.
