A certain Chinese company will sell its first smartwatch in China. It has some pretty cool specs and the price tag is incredibly tempting. This smartwatch is priced around $ 45 and has NFC, Blutooth 5.0, and heart rate monitor, among other things. It could also arrive in the United States.
Redmi, Xiaomi’s budget sub-brand in China, has never launched a smartwatch before. But now the Chinese company has just announced one (its first smartwatch) and it’s exactly as you might think: it has a rather banal design and at a rather attractive price.
The Redmi Watch smartwatch has just been announced in China at the equivalent price of $ 45. The Redmi Watch has a curved and rectangular 1.4-inch screen and is available in three color variants.
The silicone strap is available in five color variations. There is only one button on the side of the smartwatch, the rest is managed by the touchscreen or the Mi Fit application on a paired smartphone.
Other specs of the smartwatch include NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, a heart rate monitor, and water resistance up to 50 meters. Xiaomi claims that the battery life of the Redmi Watch will be 7 days or 12 days if using a power saving mode.
The interfaces heavily use black backgrounds, similar to the Apple Watch, although at this price you can’t expect an OLED screen.
Xiaomi’s $ 45 Chinese smartwatch will be available for purchase in China on December 1, but could reach other markets, including the United States, in an optimized form.
XDA developers recently unveiled an FCC listing for a smartwatch that is nearly identical to the $ 45 Mi Watch Lite, but hasn’t launched in the US yet.
