Teachers and health personnel protest this Wednesday 4 November at the headquarters of the Ministry of Labor, located in Plaza Caracas, to ask for better wages and decent conditions.

Workers marched around Baralt Avenue until they reached the Ministry of Labor, where a commission will deliver to the authorities a document specifying all their needs.

In the photographs and videos published in social networks workers are observed with whistles and banners within government agency facilities.

Pablo Zambrano, trade union leader in the health sector, indicated that they would consider a possible national hospital strike if Nicolás Maduro’s regime does not offer them short-term answers.

He stressed that they will continue with the street actions and that they are preparing a great mobilization that will take place in 15 days.

In the last year, the health and education sectors have organized countless demonstrations to denounce low wages, which currently amount to just over $ 3 per month.

Furthermore, these unions also ask for conditions to be able to work with dignity. In the case of healthcare workers, in the midst of the pandemic they have no covid-19 protective material or patient care supplies. While educators do not have the tools to virtually teach in the classroom.

They also complain that they have no other employment benefits such as insurance with which they can provide for their medical needs.
