Take-Two Interactive is interested in the acquisition of Codemasters. Corresponding discussions between the two sides are said to have already taken place, this has been confirmed by Codemasters (source: VGC via Gematsu). A purchase price of nearly 740 million pounds (around 820 million euros) is in the room. It is said that if Take-Two Interactive makes the offer official, Codemasters’ board would unanimously recommend its shareholders to accept the offer.
Take-Two Interactive is the parent company of 2K Games, Rockstar Games and Private Division. Codemasters is mainly known for racing games like F1 series, DiRT, DiRT Rally, Grid and Onrush.
It is also worth noting that Codemasters #CDM shares have increased in each of the last 7 sessions – their best run since they floated 2 years ago …

Shore Capital analysts: “The offer price is too low and a cash price of comfortably above 500p would be more suitable. Could this new offer prompt other companies to look at Codemasters and potentially create further interest, perhaps from Tencent or Activision Blizzard? ”
