Synology announces DS1621 +, a 6-bay NAS and AMD Ryzen processor. This is a solution focused on performance and operational stability, designed for content creators and the business environment looking for a reliable and fast solution.

The new DS1621 + is one of the most powerful models in the plus series, being equipped with a state-of-the-art processor, AMD Ryzen with four cores. It offers sequential write speeds of up to 1.1GB / s, 75% faster than the previous generation DS1618 +, but also 4KB random read with 110,000 IOPS, 174% faster than the previous model.

Thanks to the four-core AMD Ryzen processor, the DS1621 + offers double the processing performance of Intel’s previous generation (Atom C3538).

The new drive features two M.2 2280 slots, which allow for the installation of NVMe SSDs. Thus, the cache will be stored on very fast NVMe drives, which can provide 20% higher performance for data that is accessed frequently.

Conservation and protection

Whether you are a content creator, IT administrator or just a lot of files to archive, DS1621 + offers six storage compartments, with the ability to expand to 16, using the Synology DX517 extension.

Therefore, for added protection, Synology Hyper Backup enables efficient backup, based on a user-defined schedule, for Synology NAS, Synology C2 Cloud Storage or other cloud solutions.

Manage your data the way you like it

Synology Drive puts you in full control of your NAS system, turning it into a private cloud with no recurring costs. Synology Drive can be used on your mobile phone, desktop, browser or can be run directly on the NAS.

In addition, Synology also makes the Moments application available. This, based on machine learning algorithms, efficiently manages the entire photo and video library. Synology Moments allows you to group photos by location, people in the photo, or topics.
