Synology has launched DS1621 +, a 6-bay NAS and an AMD Ryzen processor

Synology has announced its first NAS equipped with an AMD Ryzen processor. DS1621 + is focused on performance, across the 6 available compartments and is dedicated to content creators and the corporate environment.

We are dealing with one of the most powerful models of the plus series. It offers sequential write speeds of up to 1.1GB / s, 75% faster than the previous generation DS1618 +. The new NAS now integrates a quad-core processor AMD Ryzen V1500B clocked at 2.2 GHz, aided by 4GB of DDR4 RAM. Therefore, it manages to deliver twice the performance than the previous generation equipped with the Intel Atom C3538 CPU.

DS1621 + is equipped with two M.2 2280 slots, allowing installation of NVMe SSDs. Therefore, the cache will be stored on very fast drives, which can provide higher performance for data that is accessed frequently. The new NAS also allows installation of a 10GbE network card.

Here we have the DMS operating system, which offers various data backup and recovery solutions. So, Synology Hyper Backup, allows efficient backup to the cloud, based on a predefined schedule.

DS1621 + also integrates the function Active backup, a business solution that allows you to centralize backup from multiple sources or from an external network. All data is collected in one place from which it can be accessed and managed correctly.
