Throughout the month of November, recreational sports and thus amateur football are banned in Germany. This was agreed based on information from Press agency dpa Chancellor Angela Merkel on Wednesday videoconference with the prime ministers of the 16 federal states. During the month of November, advice will be repeatedly given on which crown sizes should be adapted and, if necessary, extended. A longer stop in amateur football cannot be ruled out, as the winter break is imminent in December.

The state’s goal is for people to severely limit their contacts, especially in the leisure sector, which of course also includes amateur football. To make matters worse, not all spectators, supervisors and players have strictly adhered to the rules of hygiene and distance in recent weeks. On the other hand, medical professionals see a low risk of being infected with the corona on the field itself. DFB doctor Tim Meyer recently said: “The observation that it is very unlikely that you will be infected in the field does not explicitly mean that this also applies outside the field. There are known cases of infection during team meetings and other meetings indoors.. “

The measures agreed on Wednesday apply from 2 November. Now it’s up to the federations to decide which matches will be played next Monday.
