State of Decay 2 gets a free next-generation update for Microsoft’s XBox Series X / S. A new difficulty level and further improvements are on board.
Developer Undead Labs today released a next-generation patch for the zombie action game State of Decay 2. With the update, the game is optimized for Microsoft’s XBox Series X / S and playable in 4K and 60 fps. The creators also donate an entirely new difficulty level and a whole range of unlockable achievements.
If State of Decay 2 was too easy for you, you can now make the game one level harder. The new “Lethal” difficulty level is independent of your hardware: you can have it just as hard on the XBox Series X / S, PC or XBox One if you wish. On Lethal, the resources available in the world are reduced and enemies do you more damage. Plague hearts also become more effective, with which undead enemy masses spread faster and even repopulate areas.
If you try the new difficulty level, you will also find new achievements worth 100 Gamerscore points. If you only like some aspects of the lethal option, you can adjust the screws yourself with a custom difficulty level.
In line with the winter version, you can get the “Stay Frosty Pack” through in-game challenges. With the items in the pack you can dress your survivors appropriately for the winter and use the new mod workbench. The update is initially free, but will be chargeable at a later time, according to Microsoft on the XBox home page.
