Research is underway to find out who attacked Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) after he was hospitalized following the brutal beating. Everyone is apparently suspicious, but Max Branning (Jake Wood), Peter Beale (Dayle Hudson) and Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ) all had particularly strong motivations …
Elsewhere, Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) plans to run a runner with lover Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadmi), until she decides to turn herself in to the police, much to the fury of Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).
Here are all your spoilers on EastEnders 7-11 December 2020.
Sharon finds Ian after the attack
An invisible individual (obviously not seen, this story will surely continue for years) sneaks out of the Vic after beating Ian so brutally that the businessman is cold on the floor.
Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) returns home and is horrified to find her friend in such a state. The panicked landlady struggles to find an impulse and contacts Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) to break the news of her son. Watch Kaff’s reaction, as it may reveal if she was the one who delivered the blow. As the Vic becomes the scene of the crime and Ian is rushed to the hospital, the search continues to find out who had finally had enough of Beale’s bullying.
Jack leads the investigation
Suspicion is rife among the locals as virtually everyone has had problems with Beale, thanks to his recent horrific antics which saw him make more enemies than JR Ewing around 1980. Some even smeared “Burn in Hell” on the pub door – now it’s a grudge. Super cop Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) is trying to find the culprit and quickly makes a turn, leading to an arrest. First rule of a whodunnit: ignore the first person who was accused by the police, it’s all too obvious …
As the week progresses, new evidence emerges, alibis are agreed upon, and secrets threaten to explode as someone tries to cover their tracks. Soon Jack convinces another of his neighbors to assist the police in their investigation: Did he take his man? Or woman?
Max, Bobby and Peter look guilty
Certainly Max is the main suspect: he and Ian had been at odds for months after his business partner stole from him to buy alcohol. Threatening Ian to pay or otherwise, Max had no leg to stand on when his enemy spied on him as he joked with Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and used him as leverage.
Meanwhile, when the extent of his deception and his financial double game became apparent to children Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell), Peter and mom Kathy, the rest of the Beales also seem guilty. And actually not too bothered their relative is fighting for his life. Others to watch are Linda, frightened by her love with Max which is revealed to Mick Carter (Danny Dyer), Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White), who plotted to bring the Carters back to the pub, and Stuart, who has blamed Ian for destroying their hopes that Tiffany Butcher-Baker (Maisie Smith) was a surrogate. Place your bets now!
Kush is delivered
Having been the second person this year to hide in Whitney Dean’s (Shona McGarty) loft, Kush has managed to escape and is ready to escape Walford with mistress Kat after the robbery drama. Kat sneaks out to find Phil in order to get her share of the money she is owed, but the tough man actually tells her to jog by giving her a fraction of the funds.
Deciding that there is no way out and abandoning the idea of a life on the run by constantly looking over his broad shoulders, Kush surrenders himself to the police. This angers Kat, as her partner in crime doesn’t bother to consult her first, and infuriates Phil, who fears that Kush implies everyone involved in the robbery. If he does, it’s not just Ian who will be seriously injured.
Elsewhere on EastEnders
- Sinister Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) catches young Will Mitchell (Freddie Phillips) stealing food from the Minute Mart, but defends his theft by insisting it’s for a friend whose family is struggling to make ends meet. And it’s just pinching stuff past its expiration date. Don’t expect this whimsical story to cut the ice with Suki, whose attitude towards naughty children is more Miss Hannigan than Maria von Trapp.
- Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) has news of her attacker, Paul, who she learns was convicted of assaulting another woman and now faces a prison sentence. Even if she’s glad the scoundrel who attempted to rape her is behind bars, will it lead to closure or will Hun be haunted forever by her trial? He can rely on Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) being there for support, but is that all he offers?
