Soon the end of Flash also for Firefox

[ad_1]

19. November 2020 – After Google, Microsoft and Apple, from January 2021, with version 85, Mozilla will no longer offer support for the obsolete Flash technology. Browser makers are following Adobe’s announcement that Flash will be discontinued at the end of 2020.

Probably the latest browser, Mozilla’s Firefox will soon destroy Adobe’s Flash Player. Firefox 84 – currently version 83 – is expected to be the last version of Firefox that supports Flash, as Mozilla announced when Firefox 83 was released.

This means that Firefox users from January 2021, when version 85 is released, will have to or will be able to do without outdated and insecure Flash technology. More precisely: Firefox 85 will be released on January 26, but from January 12, the Flash plug-in will no longer work and will no longer load Flash content. If you purchase Firefox as a beta or night version, you will no longer be able to use Flash from December 14th or immediately.

Flash developer Adobe had already announced in summer 2017 that Flash would reach the end of its life cycle by the end of 2020. From that point on, there will be no more security updates for Flash and download links for Flash. player will disappear from the Adobe website. Adobe has summarized more information here. (ubi)
