So now you can receive DAZN without streaming

The two channels DAZN 1 and DAZN 2 were previously reserved exclusively for sports bars. From now on you can receive it even if you are a user of the Vodafone cable network. Transmission does not take place via the Internet signal, but via a normal TV signal (DVB-C). For the first time there is DAZN without the Internet. The peculiarity: with the subscription, which you can only book with Vodafone, you have access to the complete DAZN streaming offer in addition to the two linear channels. Vodafone is the first and only provider in Germany to distribute DAZN content as well as an app and website in the form of two “linear” TV channels for private customers, the provider announced.

DAZN 1 and DAZN 2 are HD channels that show the best sports content from DAZN for around 16 hours a day, including for example Bundesliga, UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League matches. The exact program can be called up at any time using the EPG function of the TV or receiver. You can still receive the full streaming offer.

So you can book DAZN without internet

The new offer is available for all GigaTV customers as well as for all Vodafone TV rates in combination with smart cards. This means that if you’ve just connected your TV to your cable network, you’re probably not using a smart card. The costs of the television are calculated on the ancillary costs of the apartment. But if you receive Sky or private HD channels, for example, then you use a smart card on which you can book the new offer. Where a cable network is not available, TV customers can watch DAZN broadcasts via GigaTV Net Box. The normal DAZN app is available wherever you are.

The first month of booking is free. Subsequently, there is a monthly fee of 9.99 euros. This is cheaper than a normal DAZN subscription, which costs 11.99 euros. However, a minimum period of one year is also stipulated. The pure version of the app can be canceled monthly. You can book the offer on the hotline or, for example, online.

Existing DAZN users can have their subscription rewritten as part of the registration process with Vodafone, Vodafone said when asked. Only those who have booked the subscription not with DAZN but with a third party provider must first cancel the subscription and then reorder it.

There is a limitation: Linear transmitters are currently not yet available for customers in North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse and Baden-Württemberg. This is the former Unitymedia area. There are technical reasons for this, but the implementation is planned. However, according to Vodafone, customers in these areas could receive channels via the DAZN app on the GigaTV Net Box. According to his own statements, Vodafone reaches 24 million households with its cable network.
