Schlager: Heintje is in mourning: his mother Johanna Simons died at the age of 86
Pop singer Heintje has his success as a little star not just her angelic voice, but also indebted to his constantly busy parents. Mother Johanna in particular has always supported the child prodigy, she was very concerned for the welfare of her filius and was able to experience firsthand how little Heintje has become an adult and independent man with his family – an enviable mother-child relationshipwhich lasted for decades and brought us both a lot of joy.
But Johanna Simons was ill: as Bild.de reports, Heintje’s mother had done so a persistent heart condition, received a new heart valve two years ago, and after her health continued to deteriorate, she even had to go to the hospital a few weeks ago – a blow of fate for the 65-year-old! In the spring of this year, Heintje probably suspected that his mother would not be able to recover anytime soon. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the pop star avoided otherwise so close contact to Mama Johanna, as far as possible, he spoke to her only through the window.

It didn’t help: Heintje’s mother had to transferred to intensive care unit during her hospital stay after he had water in his lungs, even then he looked extremely bleak. Heintje could no longer visit his mother, Corona’s danger was too great. Despite all precautionary measures, Johanna Simons was infected with the virus, but did not die of COVID-19, but presumably due to their persistent heart disease, as Heintje explained to Bild.de.
There was only one last meeting shortly before his death: thanks to special permission, Heintje was able to wear a protective suit and a mask personally greets his mother – a harsh and heartbreaking farewell, after all, accompanied his Heintje for 65 years. But no one will soon forget Johanna Simons: with “Mama”, Heintje has his mother created an unforgettable musical monumentwhich still inspires today and will remember it for a long time.
