Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – In a new statement, the Assistant Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Health for Preventive Health, Dr. Abdullah Al-Asiri, spoke about the ambition of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to provide a vaccine for the emerging coronavirus “Covid-19” for at least 70% of the country’s population by the end of 2021.

In a statement to the Saudi channel Al-Ikhbariya on Monday, the Ministry of Health’s Deputy Undersecretary for Preventive Health, Dr. Abdullah Asiri, explained that the goal is to provide the vaccine to as many people as possible.

Al-Asiri said groups that have not been confirmed infected with the “Covid-19” virus will be given priority to obtain the vaccine, adding that they aspire that Corona vaccines will cover up to 70% of the citizens and residents of the Kingdom in the coming months, and by the end of 2021.

Al-Asiri indicated that the vaccine will be available to everyone in the Kingdom for free because it is considered a public health purpose.
