We can expect Samsung to launch three new foldable phone models next year. According to a new report from UBI Research (Via The Elec), the South Korean company is preparing to launch three models of foldable phones with OLED screens. These would be: Galaxy Z Flip 2, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Fold Lite.
According to the report, Galaxy Z Flip 2 would have a 6.7-inch screen and a selfie camera perforated in the screen. The external screen would receive an improvement, reaching 3 inches. If the information is correct, the internal screen would remain the same size as the original (Galaxy Z Flip).
Galaxy Z Fold 3 is rumored to have a 7-inch internal screen and a 4-inch external screen. Galaxy Z Fold Lite it should be a more accessible version with the same dimensions.
Also, according to the report, Galaxy Fold 3 will have support for S-pen and a selfie camera framed under the screen. We can expect an LTPO screen to save energy. At the same time, the three models would be equipped with UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) technology.
But it’s not the first time we’ve heard about the Z Fold Lite. It is assumed that Samsung wants to withdraw the Note series from the market. Since the Galaxy S21 Ultra is expected to receive S Pen support as well, it would replace the Note series.
Samsung’s plans are not very predictable, however, the company can change its strategy depending on market conditions. Furthermore, we still do not know what the price of the new “affordable” folding will be, given that the manufacturing process of this type of terminal is still quite expensive.
