According to Peter Rollberg, professor of Slavic languages and film studies, “Djigarhanean’s characters are usually distinguished by stoicism, irony and a quiet inner strength, which radiates a sour charm that has grown with age”.

In 2018, the famous actor was hospitalized in Moscow, after suffering a heart attack in his theater where a new performance was being prepared, and was in a coma for more than an hour.
