Russian doctors assess the risk of premature aging due to “Covid-19”

Russian doctors, in an interview with the Russian newspaper “RBK”, expressed their opinion on the risks of premature aging that can follow infection with the emerging coronavirus.

And Dr. Tatiana Romanenko, director of the clinic, “Your Doctor”, indicates that it is too early to say that premature aging of the body may be one of the consequences of the “Covid-19” infection.

“In six months we can’t get old or go back to our youth, because that’s a very short time,” he says.

According to her, the most dangerous consequence of “Covid-19” infection is perhaps “damage to lung tissue”, as well as “vascular connective tissue”. And many complications occur in the body associated with circulatory disorders. Therefore, anticoagulant therapy is used in this case.

He adds that doctors have diagnosed many patients with “Covid-19” as having diabetes. But what is the reason for their infection with this disease? Is it because they are aging or are being treated with glucocorticoid hormones, which can raise blood sugar and develop diabetes? Furthermore, even after contracting a mild form of the disease, patients suffer from weakness, headaches, nerve tissue injury, and decreased memory and performance. So over time we will know the consequences of this disease.

For his part, Dr Sergey Boreasov, a pulmonologist, says the emerging coronavirus can affect all parts of the body and “destroy the blood vessel wall and cause the growth of connective tissue.” This disease, like other diseases, leaves its mark on life expectancy.
