Interested users can now earn QNT tokens by running a Ripple validator (XRP) via the Quant Network Overledger Gateway.
Ripple first launched its Interledger Protocol (ILP) in 2015. The protocol was aimed at facilitating payments through other payment networks. Over time, it has engaged over 200 banks that transact by buying or selling its native token, XRP.
Ripple’s ILP has been called a ledger. However, it works more like a cryptographic escrow system. Simply put, it facilitates transfers between blockchains by using connectors.
According to a tweet, users can now process Ripple (XRP) transactions via the Quant Network Overledger gateway and earn QNT tokens in the process. It should be noted that this does not represent a partnership between the two companies.

Quant Overledger interoperability
Based in the UK, Quant Network seeks to introduce an improved form of blockchain interoperability with its Overledger network. With this network, companies will be able to easily create complete ecosystems and then connect them to other ecosystems. What is Overledger?

How does Overledger work?
Unlike most interop platforms, Overledger simply isolates the layers to provide interop. The layers include:
- Protocol layer: Also known as the multiple blockchain layer.
- Transaction Level: Stores transaction details.
- Messaging level: From each log, messages and transactional information are compiled. These compiled messages are then mixed into the messaging layer.
- Filtering and sorting level: the message mix is arranged in this level.
- Application tier: This tier contains multi-chain or MAPP applications.
