A reduced parking fee will soon be available in the new pink zones, which will soon appear in some existing parking areas in Rotorua, says the Rotorua Lakes Council.

In a press release today, the council said the new pink zones aim to provide an even more convenient all-day (eight-hour) parking option for inner-city workers.

Parking in the pink zones costs 50 cents an hour.

Located on Hinemaru St, Haupapa St, Pukuatua St and Eruera St, the new zones would replace areas where parking previously cost $ 1 an hour. The council has called for the release so that people “keep an eye on the changes in signage on these streets.”

Customers who park in the pink zones should pay at the dedicated pink zone payment machines (located within the pink zones and clearly marked) or they could pay via the PrestoPark parking app once the new zones have been integrated with the app , the statement said.

Parking lots that accepted coin payment had recently been equipped with a red band around the top for easy identification.

The communiqué also said that inner city workers looking for an additional low-cost parking option would soon be able to access occasional $ 6-a-day parking and reduced-rate permit parking options in the city. Pukuatua Street parking building.

The building has recently been modernized and will be fully operational in June.
