Ripple is pushing to bring XRP Ledger into the world of central bank digital currencies (CBDC).
The San Francisco startup is looking to hire a senior director of central bank positions, according to a new job list.
“Ripple is looking for a proven leader to guide our strategy, partnerships and project work with central banks around the world with an initial focus on supporting their central bank digital currency (CBDC) initiatives on XRP Ledger.
In this role, you will define and lead Ripple’s strategy with central banks, build relationships and educate central bankers around the world, and secure and manage partnerships with central banks to build and implement projects. “
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse recently said central banks may consider using XRP Ledger to issue stablecoins. He also said that XRP could be used as a bridging resource for exchanging digital forms of fiat.
The new hire will focus on developing strategies to integrate Ripple’s products with the nascent CBDC market and will present various ways in which banks can use the XRP ledger.
Ripple says it wants to partner with CBDC projects and manage a “target list and pipeline of banks and projects and lead the deal process from start to finish.”
