SAN FRANCISCO – November 17, 2020 – Forte today announced new partnerships with Gallium Studios, Monster Ideas, Penrose and GC Turbo that bring together blockchain-based economic technology, pioneers of gaming and digital entertainment. Each developer will use Forte’s technology in an upcoming gaming experience to introduce new business models rooted in promoting and rewarding gamer communities.

Forte’s open business platform aims to address the growing mismatch between game developers and gamers that is the result of business models, technology, and community platforms not being able to keep up with creative innovations and diverse applications of the games. It allows for the creation of new gameplay and world design that directly support the long-term health of a game through the player-developer cooperative economy, or what Forte calls community economics.

The company made headlines last year when it partnered with Ripple to launch a $ 100 million developer fund to spur the integration of its technology. The fund works alongside Forte’s platform technologies and includes open source solutions designed in partnership with Ripple to accelerate the mainstream adoption of blockchain technology in games.

As announced in March 2019, Forte’s technology stack includes components designed in close collaboration with Ripple, notably leveraging the open source Interledger protocol with XRP serving as a core pair solution and the Codius container-based hosting solution that supports seamless transactions. interruptions between blockchains.

The new members of Forte

“The partners we announced today are all masters of their craft,” said Josh Williams, cofounder and CEO of Forte. “They have created and contributed to landmark works that have helped define – and continue to shape – the industry at large. We will combine our affordable technology with their extraordinary creative visions to deliver the same kind of industry-defining work and usher in a new era for gaming that has the community at its heart. ”

“I’ve spent my career making games that let a player’s creativity be part of their experience,” said Will Wright, co-founder, Gallium Studios. “Forte’s technology adds to this idea by allowing players to create and own their own content in our games.”

“Our partnership with Forte allows the community to participate in the game economy through the content they create and control,” added Lauren Elliott, co-founder, Gallium Studios. “We focus on creating gameplay and economic projects that are collaborative in nature, so that players can engage in original and relevant experiences and be rewarded for their creativity.”

“Integrating the community into games has always been my professional goal,” said Jeff Tunnell, president of Monster Ideas. “Our partnership with Forte gives us the ability to explore new business models that align the efforts of developers and players and can reshape the way games are funded and created.”

“Penrose’s partnership with Forte is a natural evolution of our journey,” said Eugene YK Chung, founder and CEO of Penrose. “As we continue to create our virtual worlds, we are delighted to leverage Forte’s strong infrastructure to build a solid economic foundation. The extraordinary long-term potential of Blockchain will ultimately allow us to offer even more collaborative and coherent human experiences on our journey to empower the search for meaning. ”

“We are committed to providing gamers with fantastic gaming experiences without the need for new hardware, large downloads or prohibitive prices,” said Jia Shen, CEO and co-founder of GC Turbo. “We are excited to partner with Forte to create new types of player-centric business models that bring even more benefits to the community.”

Together, Forte and its portfolio of developer partners are exploring, validating and integrating new and affordable gameplay and designs into both existing and future games. Some improve popular game mechanics such as earning in-game cosmetics and player rewards. Others explore more radical concepts such as guild ownership and governance, gameplay services offered by players to other players, and community-generated experiences.

Forte’s technology facilitates the safe and transparent distribution of the economy to both gamers and developers in these new game designs, thereby aligning their efforts to support a game and its community.

Previously announced game developer partners include Hi-Rez Studios, nWay, Other Ocean, Kongregate, Netmarble EMEA, Magmic, Disruptor Beam, and DECA Games. There are over 20 developer partners in total integrating Forte’s cost-effective technology.
