Redmi Note 9 Pro: impressive 108 MP camera

[ad_1]

Xiaomi today opened the doors to the entry of the Redmi Note 9 family in China and, as we had already announced, and the big news is the new Redmi Note 9 Pro which brings two great arguments: a tremendous 108MP camera and 5G connectivity.

Obviously a rebranding is involved here. The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is actually a Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite, itself a Poco X3, with a 108MP sensor. Otherwise, the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G retains most of the specifications of the Mi 10T Lite. Therefore, we find the same 6.67-inch FHD screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and the same Snapdragon 750G processor with 6 or 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage. The battery is the same, with 4820mAh and 33W.

In the chamber ward only the main chamber changes. The 64MP unit comes out and a tremendous 108MP camera comes in, but the rest remains relatively spartan, perfectly consistent with the price segment. We are therefore talking about an 8MP ultra wide-angle, a 2MP macro and a depth sensor of equal resolution, while the front camera is 16MP.

Together with the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 9 5G and Redmi Note 9 4G, smartphones that have a lot in common, have also been unveiled.

Specifically, they mobilize a 6.53-inch FHD screen with a refresh rate of 60 Hz. In the cameras we have a 48MP main unit, an 8MP ultra wide angle and a 2MP depth sensor.

Then the differences begin. While the Redmi Note 9 5G uses the interesting Mediatek Dimensity 800U with 6/8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory, with a 5000 mAh battery and an 18 W recharge.

The Redmi Note 9 4G uses Snapdragon 662 with 128 GB of memory and 4 GB of RAM and a 6000 mAh battery with 18 W charging. If these specifications are familiar, they are, point by point, those of the Poco M3, which seems to me a very interesting smartphone for the price. The design, however, is less striking.

Xiaomi’s alignment is sometimes difficult to follow. A little, a Xiaomi, a Redmi. But in what matters, the Chinese brand manages to update its portfolio with enough to stay interesting, and that’s the case here. But the confusion is not over: it is possible that when they reach the European beaches we will call these devices Redmi Note 10 and Redmi Note 10 Pro.
