Kalypso Media announced today that Realmforge Studios will further develop the popular “Tropico” series. Furthermore, before Christmas the studio will debut the first add-on “Caribbean Skies” for “Tropico 6” (December 16, 2020 for PC, PS4, Xbox One), developed by Realmforge. In order for the developer to cope with the business, Kalypso Media completed the full acquisition of 100% of the shares of Realmforge Studios in early 2020 and significantly expanded the studio. Previously, only a 60% majority of the shares were held. The recently completed move in Munich to a larger location offers enough space for further expansion.
Realmforge Studios have been working exclusively for Kalypso Media for more than 10 years and have made a name for themselves at the latest with fan favorite “Dungeons 3” (94% positive user rating on Steam) and at the same time many fans with a lot of before release Won the long-awaited “Spacebase Startopia” (Spring 2021 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch). The two studio managers Benjamin Rauscher and Christian Wolfertstetter remain linked to the studio for the long term.
