Last played with pain
RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann must accept the next long-term failure after Lukas Klostermann (24; knee surgery) and Konrad Laimer (23; bone edema). Due to an inflammation of the patellar tendon, newcomer Benjamin Henrichs probably won’t join the team again until the new year, as reported by the “kicker”.
Update 14:32: The club has now officially confirmed the message: Henrichs will be out for a few weeks, wrote RB Leipzig on Twitter.
“We will take him out now and give him rest so that the inflammation goes away,” RB sporting director Markus Krösche told the magazine. “Now we will look and decide from week to week”. Nagelsmann said: “It’s not a lifelong condition that you always have these tendon problems and play with the pain because it can’t behave well this way.”
The 23-year-old defensive all-rounder initially moved to Leipzig on loan from AS Monaco in the summer. Since then, Henrichs has played in eleven competitive matches.
