Radeon RX 6800 XT: ASRock Taichi and Gigabyte Gaming OC in pictures

Some, but not all, board partners have already shown their upcoming custom designs of the Radeon RX 6800 (XT). In ASRock and Gigabyte this is still pending, but the leaked images come before it. They should show the ASRock Radeon RX 6800 XT Taichi and the Gigabyte Radeon RX 6800 XT Gaming OC.

VideoCardz hit again and show ASRock’s alleged Radeon RX 6800 XT Taichi. Compared to the RX 5700 XT Taichi, the design has been changed. The fans and their frames have a different shape and the lighter beige / gold has given way to a dark gray / brown. The graphics card takes up 2.5 slots in the housing and has a BIOS switch (presumably Performance / Quiet) and a switch to disable RGB lighting. Two DisplayPorts, one HDMI and one USB-C are available on the slot bracket.

A special feature is the use of three instead of the usual two 8-pin power sockets. Furthermore, the backplate has no opening on the back of the card, as has already been seen several times.

As VideoCardz reports, the Twitter user known for leaks did Patrick Schur the photo of the alleged Radeon RX 6800 XT Gaming OC published by Gigabyte. The Tweet is no longer available. But the Internet does not forget and so the picture goes around.

The graphics card design is strongly reminiscent of Gigabyte’s GeForce RTX 3070 Gaming OC (test). As a result, three axial fans can be seen, of which the middle one rotates in a different direction. A 2.5 slot design is assumed.

On November 18, AMD will ship the Radeon RX 6800 and Radeon RX 6800 XT with the “Big Navi” GPU and RDNA-2 architecture in the reference design against Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3070 and GeForce RTX 3080 in the field. Partner projects are expected a little later. Other manufacturers also provided a preview of the custom designs, which for some was much broader.
