PS Store issue on PS Vita fixed by Sony

PlayStation Vita owners have not been able to purchase any games or even download the titles they already owned from the portable device for the past couple of days. As reported by several Reddit users around the world, trying to do this produced a number of error messages. In the last few hours the problem seems to have been solved.

The “NP-2245-3” error was the most common error encountered by players. He claims that “it was not possible to connect to PlayStation Network within the time limit”. Some players have managed to find a workaround for stores in the US and Canada. This involved logging into the PlayStation Store and using old links from the store. Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to work for any store outside of these two regions.

Last month, Sony made changes to the web and mobile versions of the PlayStation Store that prevented the purchase of PlayStation Vita games and DLC. Despite this, Sony has confirmed that Vita owners could still make new purchases and download their existing library via the store app on the portable device itself. Gamers started to worry after the store app was disabled for nearly two days. Sony hasn’t even acknowledged the problem, much less has it issued a deadline for a fix.

Reports have already started coming in that the problem has been fixed, so it appears this was just a temporary bug. This is especially good news, as there are still new games to be released for Sony’s portable gaming system, and gamers still need a way to buy them.
