Private Sharing could be Samsung’s blockchain-based sharing app

Samsung is not intimidated when it comes to introducing interesting software features. Gone are the days when everything we got from Samsung was a lackluster experience as the Korean tech giant got better in many ways when it came to offering good features. On the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Samsung has a quick share feature, which uses UWB for files. Samsung appears to be working on Private Share, a method of sharing and protecting files once shared.

Samsung’s private sharing could be the company’s blockchain-based file sharing method for added security

A new report from SamMobile suggests that Samsung is working on a feature called Private Sharing, a blockchain-based secure file transfer app that allows senders to set an expiration date for the shared file. The shared files are then deleted from the recipient’s phone after the expiration time or date has passed.

The report also states that both the recipient and the sender will request the private sharing app on their phones, with the sender initiating the transfer request which can then be rejected or accepted by the recipient. It is also said that the app will not allow re-sharing of the received file; however, it is unclear if the app will be accessed via the file management apps.

The report also talks about how the Private Share app could debut on the Galaxy S21 series, but knowing Samsung, we won’t be surprised if this app starts making its way onto other Galaxy devices that aren’t flagships.

I personally find Blockchain to be one of the best ways to make sure everything is handled securely and correctly. Hence, it is good to see that Samsung is working on the technology as it will make things better and safer for users when it comes to sharing files. However, the overall Blockchain application could be much bigger for Samsung, but only time will tell how it will turn out.
