Portaltic.-Apple’s MagSafe Duo charger will be less powerful than the basic MagSafe

Apple has updated the charger product page MagSafe Duo, which combines a MagSafe charger with an Apple Watch charging disc and confirmed that the the device will not be able to charge them at full speed and power.

The basic MagSafe requires a file 20W adapter in order to load the new ones iPhone 12 at 15W. However, the new MagSafe Duo will not be able to charge iPhone and Apple Watch at full power and speed simultaneously with a 20W charger.

The MagSafe Duo charger will need an adapter 20W USB Type-C for wireless charging up to 11W it’s at 27W or higher USB Type-C adapter for wireless charging up to 14W, as shared by Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman on his Twitter account.

MagSafe Duo has two magnetic connectors, one for the iPhone and one for the Apple Watch and lets inductive load, which distributes power and speed between the two devices according to your needs.

This device will be available “very soon” for a price of 149 euros and the 20 and 27 watt adapters are sold separately, as explained by Apple on its website.

In this sense, the best option for the next MagSafe Duo will be the 30W power adapter, which has a price of 55 euros and which would increase the Final price of the MagSafe Duo at 204 euros.
