This day of November 19, 2020 marks the official launch of the console PlayStation 5 in Romania, the product long awaited by the players. The start of the pre-order was given to us on September 18th, and the stocks reserved for this program quickly ran out. Today we find that pre-orders have begun to be honored by local retailers.
From what I’ve seen, Altex has started providing consoles to customers, and as expected, many have jumped to OLX to take advantage of limited availability. I came across some ads asking for amounts of 4,000 – 5,000 lei for PS5 BluRay, double the official amount the console is listed for.
If you have not been among those who have placed a pre-order since September, it will be difficult to purchase one in the next period. We learn from Mobilissimo.ro that retailers have very small stocks and that there will be unexpected sales programs.
An example is Altex which would only have 300 consoles in stock associated with the official launch on the Romanian market. As there are so many requests, the retailer would have decided to opt for a purchase lottery system starting tomorrow, November 20th.

- Pay the full price of the console in your customer account
- Wait for the draw to see if you are among the 300 who can buy the console
- If you have not earned the right to purchase, you will get your money back
