Who is under the mask of Anubis? Users of the ProSieben app are divided: dead race (which corresponds to the Egyptian god of dead rituals) between Klaas Heufer-Umlauf and Elyas M’Barek. Zietlow throws another actor into the discussion with Jürgen Vogel. Ceylan suspects former bachelor Paul Jahnke or Mark Medlock behind the masquerade.
Are celebrities in meerkat costumes a real couple or not? The advisory team takes care of this question when the cute fur animals appear. Either way, in “I Want To Break Free” (Queen) the two reenact “Scene of a Turbulent Marriage” – including vacuuming the living room and motivating kicks in the buttocks.
Elton commits: “The meerkats are Daniela Katzenberger and Lucas Cordalis”. Zietlow dreams of the couple Thore and Jana Schölermann. Ceylan claims he discovered a reference to Giovanni Zarrella (“He was playing at AS Roma”) in a shirt shown in practice. So Giovanni and Jana Ina? The semifinals will tell as soon as possible.
The alien sings versatile, offers different vocal colors, sometimes high, sometimes low. It’s hard to identify what, but one thing is certain: extraterrestrial Knuffel lets him go with “Wrecking Ball” (Miley Cyrus). “Trumpet, little blue wrecking ball,” praises moderator Matthias Opdenhövel. Zietlow can only sigh: “I’m in love”.
But who could be the shy alien? Zietlow thinks he has recognized an East German dialect and brings singer Tim Bendzko into play. Elton suspects opera singer Rolando Villazón because the detailed film mentioned Bolivia – and Villazón is also the name of a city in Bolivia.
“I’m confused,” admits Zietlow after the cat appears, who is actually celebrating with “I Am What I Am” (Gloria Gaynor). In fact, Zietlow suspects a “great lady of the show”. Ceylan settles for Vicky Leandros – because his mother advised him about this suspect in a voice message. “And I believe my mother.”
After the third of six ad blocks, Opdenhövel wants to do some publicity with Elton for his next show “Schlag den Star”. Zietlow slips into the middle: “I’m always asked about ‘Beat the Star’,” he says and gets frisky: “Maybe it would be something: Elton, I challenge you with this!” Sonja vs Elton? Sensation!
“Niiilpfeeerd!” Bülent stands up and applauds the “happy hippo”. He’s too excited about his “Empire State Of Mind” (Jay-Z). Despite all the joy, the confusion remains. “I’m completely done, I have no idea,” Zietlow admits, but then suspects Haddaway. Ceylan and Elton are more likely to suspect television chef Nelson Müller.
For the fourth time the skeleton will conclude the performance. And it’s a supreme glory again. The skeleton’s “I Have Nothing” (Whitney Houston) is close to perfection. Zietlow admits: “I really had goosebumps everywhere.” Ceylan is almost stunned by the enthusiasm and decides: “This is Sarah Lombardi”.
Most TMS fans on the internet also suspect Lombardi is the skeleton. But former Monrose lead singer Mandy Capristo and 2018 DSDS winner Marie Wegener are also mentioned. Marie sang the Houston song “I Have Nothing” at the DSDS casting. The secret remains one thing for the moment: the skeleton will advance to the semifinals.
In the jump against the hippo and the cat, the frog does everything like a “ninja frog” with “Kung Fu Fighting” (Carl Douglas). Bülent, who is doing gymnastics on his chair with glee, and Elton (“This is Frog’n’Roll!”) Are pretty sure it’s Wigald Boning. Zietlow, on the other hand, has a new candidate in mind: former soccer star Pierre Littbarski.
The cat inspires with her performance in “Diamonds” (Rihanna) – and a dancer (left) disguised as a pincushion (Matthias: “Oh, are you on TV? What are you doing?” – “I’m dancing a pincushion!”). Since the cat says, “Delivering the ready-to-film is the best deal,” Elton suspects it could be Uschi Glas.
Hard rockers are also built close to water. Ceylan is so touched by the cat’s performance that tears welled from his eyes. “I’m really exhausted, it hit me.” This too is not hidden from the director: they ask Bülent over headphones if everything is okay. “Yes, I can do it.”
“Incredibly fantastic!” The hippo also inspires with “New York, New York” (Frank Sinatra), the second part of his “Big Apple” program. At Hippo, the consulting team is more puzzled. Haddaway, Oli P. (Zietlow), Nelson Müller or even Teddy Teclebrhan, who could be under it? Maybe it will be revealed in a moment, the unmasking is approaching …
No, the hippo and the cat will be elected to the semifinals. The frog gets the fewest votes and is eliminated. The mask falls off. The main suspect, Boning, appears. “Eieiei” are his first words, “this show is such an adventure”. He is a little disappointed: “I still had so much planned”.
“Next week I wanted to be the first to sing ‘Last Christmas’ on stage this year,” announces Wigald, the unmasked frog. And reveals something else: “Bülent sent me a text message, ‘Wigald, that’s you, right?'” Sonja is grumpy: “We didn’t want to write such a thing.” Continue next week: the semifinals will take place on November 16th.
