On Saturday, the black-red coalition agreed on a mandatory women’s quota for boards. This is not sufficient for parts of the opposition. Others see it as an important first step towards equal rights for women in management positions.

Parallel to the discussion on the share of women, the “stern” has published a series of portraits of successful women who say about themselves: “I am a woman of quotas”. The goal is to remove the stigma from the term.

Palina: “I felt uncomfortable in the role of shoulder”

One of the 40 women who comment on this topic in the “stern” is the actress and presenter Palina Rojinski. When asked if she describes herself as a quota woman, she replies: “I see myself first and foremost as a woman and I think it is a shame that of course we need to add a quota to our company.”

Even so, he believes his beginnings in the television industry have something to do with his genre. He describes his entry to MTV with Joko and Klaas as follows:

During this time, he got the impression that his potential was not recognized, says Palina. After a while she felt safe and asked the main editor if she could take care of her own section, which eventually worked. Do you think this offer would not have been made to her on her own initiative.

“It was my conscious decision to ask for something. It was important to learn to take responsibility for yourself, to start a conversation on your own. You can’t wait for someone to ask.”

Unfortunately, young women are still trained in such a way that “it is not appropriate for a girl to ask too much”. This is arrogant, presumptuous, uncomfortable. Instead, women should remain ambitious and show solidarity with each other. This is important, Palina points out.

Palina also reveals who her models are: Iris Berben, Senta Berger, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Marilyn Monroe. Their reasoning: “They all have in common that they are or have been brave. Because at some point they knew who they really are.”
