The smartphone market has never been so full of good offers for the most varied wallets. Currently the highlight of innovation goes to foldable phones. But it seems that the Chinese brand OPPO will take a risk and may soon present a new and different concept.
The Dongguan-based company has left information on its Weibo social network account that suggests it is developing an extendable smartphone.
OPPO will hold its OPPO INNO DAY 2020 conference in Shenzhen on the 17th and 18th of this month. At this event, the brand is expected to officially present and launch 3 conceptual products and 2 sets of technical systems.
OPPO will create a smartphone with an extensible design
But today the company revealed something about a new phone concept. Through the popular Chinese social network Weibo, the manufacturer left the following message: “Big screen? Small screen? Infinite screen? In the future, your phone can be freely picked up ”. Now, through these words, the company can be induced to work on a possible smartphone with an extensible design, whose screen has the ability to collect.
Accompanying the publication is a poster with a subtle image of one of the corners of the phone. But although it looks like a common design, it turns out that the height of the edges is higher than that of the screen.
To further strengthen this suspicion, OPPO had already applied for a patent that configures a retractable smartphone. In this way, we will soon be able to have a new and innovative equipment of the Chinese brand which is stretchable and whose screen is able to shrink.
Also, well-known user @DigitalChatStation, deduces that this phone will have a "screen that rolls in the cloud" concept, and the screen could be horizontally extendable. In other words, it would be a bellows-like design.
But most likely, this innovation won't be launched anytime soon, not least because there are many complex procedures behind such equipment.
