Diego Antonio Molina, one of the employees of the funeral home who was photographed Wednesday with the body of Diego Maradona, delivered himself to a police station.

The man is under investigation by the police initiated both by the legal representatives of the deceased and by the ex-wife and daughters of the former protagonist.

Diego Antonio Molina appeared with his lawyer at the 15A neighborhood police station of the city police, in the neighborhood of Chacarita, Buenos Aires.

Investigation

The official investigations concern the alleged desecration of a corpse and the violation of very personal rights. Both crimes, so the three involved cannot be arrested.

Meanwhile, Claudio Fernández, another of the involved in this action, spoke to Radio 10 and apologized. “We were sitting down before we picked it up and my son, like any child, raised his thumb and took the picture there,” he said.

Following these investigations, the search of the Pinier burial ground was stipulated on Thursday night. The owners of the funeral home dissociated themselves from this action by their three employees.

The three former employees of the Sepelios Pinier funeral home, who worked with the football star’s corpse, were summoned to testify by the Criminal Prosecutor No. 25 for misconduct and offenses.

The lawsuit investigates the publication of photographs by employees with Maradona’s body. Some images that were taken before Maradona’s body left for Casa Rosada, where it was veiled, and it went viral to go around the world on Thursday.

The original photographs show Maradona’s lifeless body, which has not been seen in any other way since the wake was closed.
