Today, Tuesday, Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, attended the activities to celebrate the World AIDS Day in its 32nd edition, which corresponds to December 1 of each year, under the slogan ” Towards global solidarity and sustainable coverage of services “, during a press conference at the headquarters of the Princess of Fatima Academy for Medical Education In the presence of Dr. Naima Al-Qusayr, representative of the World Organization office of health in Egypt, Randa Abul-Hassan, resident representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Egyptian office, and “Christina Albertin”, regional director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime for the Middle East and North Africa, Major General Tariq Najdi, Deputy Chief of Medical Services in the Armed Forces, and a number of leaders of the Ministry of Health and Population and members of and the Scientific Committee of the National AIDS Program.

The Minister thanked all development partners, representatives of United Nations agencies and various sectors of the Ministry of Health, Population and civil society organizations, for their efforts in support of the national response to the fight against AIDS. , stressing that the exceptional epidemiological circumstance the world is going through has increased the risk of spreading the AIDS problem and made it one of the greatest health challenges in the world, as it affects all ages and genders, and not it is only a health problem, but also a social, psychological, ethical and economic problem, stressing that the solutions to the problem must come from the efforts of all the ministries, bodies and organizations concerned.
