10. November 2020 – HMD will shortly introduce the new edition of one of Nokia’s most popular mobile phone series from previous years: the Nokia 8000 series is making a comeback.
HMD Global, licensee of the Nokia brand for smartphones and other mobile phones, intends to shortly introduce a new edition of one of Nokia’s most popular mobile phone series from previous years with the Nokia 8000 4G, according to “GSMArena”.
In addition to its Nokia-branded Android smartphones, HMD continues to sell simple mobile phones – so-called feature phones – that work with Nokia’s KaiOS. With the Nokia 8000 4G, the company now wants to bring a series of models that once consisted mainly of noble models into the modern era.
The Nokia 8000 is expected to be made from a material that the manufacturer describes as glassy, the display should be 2.8 inches. The buttons should meanwhile offer the usual layout, as is known from other phones with KaiOS.
Inside, the phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 210 quad-core SoC, combined with 512 megabytes of RAM and 4 gigabytes of internal flash storage. The memory can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.
The Nokia 8000 also has a 2 megapixel camera on the back. In addition to quad-band GSM, it supports 4G, WLAN and Bluetooth networks. The interchangeable battery has a capacity of 1500mAh and is recharged via a microUSB cable and the device weighs 110 grams. In addition to the Nokia 8000, HMD Global is planning to bring the Nokia 6300 4G to market as well, but no specific information or photos are available yet. (sweetness)
