I only found out a few days ago HMD Global prepares the return of some very popular phones in the past, namely the Nokia 8000 series models, respectively a modern variant of Nokia 6300. Today we have the first leak Nokia 8000 4G, a phone with support for 4G connectivity and a super rounded design as seen in the image below.
Unfortunately, this new phone doesn’t carry the keyboard slider cover like it had Nokia 8800 nor does the design look “premium”. It looks like a regular feature-phone, if we didn’t have this physical numeric keypad that extends to the edges, with a curved design. Nokia mentions a “glass-like” design in the teaser, probably referring to the glossy finish.
We learn that the Nokia 8000 4G will run the operating system KaiOS, with pre-installed WhatsApp and Facebook applications. It will also offer Wi-Fi Hotspot and will have a dual-SIM version. The screen will be a 2.8-inch LCD with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels and in the list of features we have 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of flash memory, microSD slot and processor Snapdragon 210.
The battery of only 1500 mAh can be replaced quickly and we find that it charges via microUSB 2.0 port. A 2 mpx camera appears in the back. The price will certainly be affordable and going back to the 2020 Nokia 6300 model, I wish it had at least one metal case like the original ….
