Nintendo has released a new update for its successful hybrid platform: Nintendo Switch. This comes after the release of the previous minor patch that was offered a few weeks ago.

This time it’s a patch introducing the version 11.0.0 and makes “general system stability improvements to enhance the user experience” along with the following:

Nintendo Switch Online is added to the HOME Menu.

  • Access all Nintendo Switch Online services, from getting the latest information to checking your membership status.
    * This function is not available in some countries / regions.

A new feature is added that automatically downloads saved data to the saved data cloud.

  • When you use software with the same Nintendo Account linked to multiple consoles, the data saved from one console will automatically download to your other consoles.
    * To use this feature, it must be enabled in System Settings> Data Management> Save Data to Cloud.
    * The saved data will not be downloaded automatically unless the saved data for that software is present on the console. Only the first time, users need to manually download the saved data.
    * A Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to use the cloud save service.

A new trending feature is added to the user page.

  • Users can check which software their friends are playing or have recently started playing. The information will not be shown to friends who have their online status set so that it is not shown to anyone.

Users can now transfer screenshots and videos from the album to their smart devices.

  • Users can wirelessly connect their smart devices to Nintendo Switch to transfer screenshots and videos saved in their album.
  • For screenshots, users can transfer a maximum of 10 screenshots and 1 video capture at a time.
    * To connect, users must use their smart device to scan the QR code displayed on the Nintendo Switch screen. For more information, visit the Nintendo Support website.
    * “QR Code” is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED.

A new Copy to Computer via USB Connection feature is added in System Settings> Data Management> Manage Screens and Videos.

  • Users can use a USB cable to connect the Nintendo Switch to their computers and copy the screenshots and videos saved in the album.
    * USB charging cable required [modelo HAC-010] or a USB-IF certified USB cable that supports data transfer for connection to a computer.
For more information, visit the Nintendo Support website.
    * Connection via the Nintendo Switch dock is not supported. Connect Nintendo Switch directly to computer.

Users can now select which download to prioritize when multiple downloads are in progress.

  • When multiple programs, update data, or downloadable content downloads are in progress, users can now select the one they want to download first.
  • You can configure it in Download Options by first selecting the icon of the software you want to download from the HOME Menu.

User icons are added.

  • Added 12 user icons to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. series

Users can now name preset button assignments with the Change Button Assignments feature.

Brazilian Portuguese is added as a supported language.

  • When users set their American region and language to Portuguese, the language used in the HOME menu and some software will be displayed in Brazilian Portuguese.

Several problems have been fixed and usability and stability have been improved.

We currently don’t know if the update will make any other changes not listed in the patch notes. If you notice any news you can leave it in the comments.
