Nintendo recently released its latest annual report, which includes new data on Nintendo Switch hardware and software sales. The document states that the hybrid console has sold 68.3 million times worldwide as of September 30, 2020.
“Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” is still the most popular switch game
Of these sales, 6.86 million units arrived in the third quarter of this year. The Japanese company has also corrected its sales forecasts for the current year. By March 31, 2021, those responsible are now speculating 24 million consoles sold. The previous forecast was 19 million devices in the current fiscal year.
In terms of software sales, the entertaining racer “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” continues to top the list of best-selling Switch games with over 28 million units sold. “Animal Crossing: New Horizons” (26 million units) follows in second place, while “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” (21.1 million units) takes third place.
