Nintendo announced that Nintendo Switch has sold more than 68.3 million units globally. This information was revealed during the Japanese company’s latest financial report and counts consoles sold until the end of September.

As noted by Gematsu, Nintendo managed to move 6.86 million consoles and 49.81 million games during the three months ending in September. One of the games that made a solid contribution to these numbers was Super Mario 3D All-Stars, which sold 5.21 million copies.

However, in terms of software the highlight is Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Since arriving on the market, the title has sold 26.04 million copies and is only behind the 28.99 million achieved by Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

As for the difference between the two exclusive Switches, however, it’s important to note that Mario Kart has been available since April 2017, while Animal Crossing is much more recent, having been released in March of this year.

Despite reports of inventory shortages caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic during 2020, Ring Fit Adventure has done very well. According to this update of the numbers, the title has sold 5.84 million units.
