Cologne – Philip Rivers of the Indianapolis Colts of the NFL professional league has surpassed the great Dan Marino. At 34:17 against the Tennessee Titans, the quarterback replaced the former Miami Dolphins star in the standings to gain space through throws (passing yards) from fifth place.
Rivers is now at 61,666 yards, Marino had reached 61,361 in his career. Leading Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints (79,536) ahead of Tom Brady (Tampa Bay Buccaneers / 76,969) and the no longer active Peyton Manning (71,940) and Brett Favre (71,838).
The Colts, who won the second half 21-0, replaced the Titans at the helm of AFC South. Both teams are 6-3 wins.
