  • PSG defeated RB Leipzig 1-0 at home on Matchday 4 of the Champions League.
  • The chances of qualifying for the round of 16 are still intact for both teams.
  • In the second Group H game, Manchester United beat Basaksehir 4-1.

Leipzig had more ball possession, more business, more ideas – and eventually walked out empty-handed to Paris. In a match that experienced more spasms and struggles than glamor and glory, a standard situation in the 9th minute was not surprisingly decisive.

  • Dayot Upamecano puts his defense line in trouble with a hair-raising bad pass. Angel di Maria of Paris then rushed into the penalty area, where Marcel Sabitzer beat him. Neymar uses the penalty due flat in the right corner. Goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi is almost there.

The reaction of the Saxons was immediate, but not too vehement. A deflected shot from Sabitzer (11 °) hisses just beyond Keylor Navas’ goal. The PSG match schedule, which compared to the first leg could still count on superstars Neymar and Kylian Mbappé, subsequently resolved perfectly. They mixed concrete in the rear and tried their luck with targeted counter-attacks.

For their part, the Leipzig team let the ball go and the opponents, temporarily tied to PSG in their own half, but were never able to bring their superiority into the risk zone. And so long shots were still the most dangerous of Julian Nagelsmann’s team.

United without effort

In the second match of the group, Manchester United beat Basaksehir 4-1 at home. Already at the break the full success of the “Red Devils” was almost resolved thanks to the 3-0 advantage.

The situation at the table before the last two group matches is exciting. ManUnited leads (9 points) ahead of PSG (6), Leipzig (6) and Basaksehir (3).
