The Saudi club contested the unilateral termination of the Romanian midfielder’s contract by FIFA and won the case.

The heist comes at a time when it couldn’t be harder, when Astra players weren’t getting their salaries 3 months.

Astra and Budescu, forced by FIFA to pay 720,000 euros to Al Shabab

In July 2018, Budescu moved from FCSB to Al Shabab for 2.5 million euros, and in August 2019 he signed with Astra, having terminated his deal with the Saudis, although he had initially signed for 3 years.

The 31-year-old attacking midfielder had a fabulous salary at Al Shabab of 1.8 million euros per season, as Marius Șumudică revealed at the time.

Budescu still has a contract with Astra until 30 June 2021.

Budescu’s market share is 2.4 million euros, according to the specialized publication Transfermarkt.
