Western doctors and scientists have discovered new side effects that appear in the long term for people infected with the Coronavirus, months after their recovery, while doctors have not been able to explain the causes of these symptoms despite not posing a threat to life. Human.
Although most “Covid 19” patients suffer from symptoms for only a few days, others suffer from health problems that will continue with them for several months to come, according to a report published by the British newspaper “Daily Mirror” and seen by “Al Arabiya Net “.
The newspaper said doctors have put the long-term symptoms under the name (Long Covid) and under this classification they recently warned of the discovery of a new phenomenon, which is sudden tooth loss.
Dentists said they have noticed that the Corona virus causes irritation of the gums through inflammation, which leads to tooth loss, and that this case has been observed in many people who have been infected with the virus and have recovered from it.
And American doctors said a woman suddenly lost a tooth this month after testing positive for the new Corona virus.
According to information, the woman named Farah Khimili (43) lives in New York City and noticed her teeth fluttering before losing them while eating ice cream.
Meanwhile, a 12-year-old boy was also reported to have lost a tooth after being diagnosed with the emerging coronavirus.
The boy’s mother, Diana Burnet, warned people of the severity of the virus and invited them, in a tweet, to take it seriously.
He said, “My son lost a front tooth, and his other teeth were loosened. It was clear from damage to blood vessels 9 months after infection with the Covid-19 virus.”
While it remains uncertain whether tooth loss is due to the emerging corona virus, experts indicate that inflammation caused by the corona virus can irritate the gums.
Dr Michael Shearer, a prosthetist in California, said: “Gum disease is very sensitive to highly inflammatory reactions and long-term Covid carriers fall into this category.”
Others, however, suggest that tooth loss may be the result of limited access to the dentist’s surgery during closure.
Prof Damien Wesley, scientific advisor to the British Dental Association, said: “Prolonged symptoms of the virus are debilitating and persistent symptoms can include shortness of breath, chest pain, brain fog, anxiety and other things.”
He continued: “We know that people who were previously in good health may have difficulty doing basic tasks, such as climbing stairs.”
He added: “It’s also possible that they don’t care about oral hygiene, which increases the risk of tooth decay and gum disease. Brushing your teeth is more important than ever, twice a day, using a fluoride toothpaste before bed. and on another occasion “.
