The complete flow sheet at TITAN Cement Group’s 17 plants is covered by a new two and a half year service contract with FLSmidth. Sustainability, digitalisation and productivity are the protagonists of the agreement with the ambition to see the implementation of best practices in TITAN plants in Europe, Africa, North and South America.
New technological developments and increasing digitization through the concrete flow sheet are enabling improvements in both productivity and sustainability, but the journey to get the most value from these investments requires valuable time and specialist skills. For a cement industry facing relentless demands to cut costs and follow stricter regulations, new partnerships between manufacturers and service providers are emerging, allowing both sides to focus their efforts.
“We are constantly looking for more efficient ways to manage our operations. With this service partnership agreement, we draw on a wide range of know-how and hundreds of specialists without incurring the full cost, “explains Antonis Kyrkos, TITAN’s Group Strategic Planning Director.” The two and a half year agreement enables both sides to work strategically on maintenance schedules and update projects based on data and best resource allocation, ”adds Kyrkos.
Anticipating the trend of more strategic partnership services arrangements, FLSmidth has been orienting its organization towards this type of alliance in recent years. “The agreement reaffirms our confidence in planned maintenance programs, supported by digitized processes, as the next level in service optimization,” says Carsten Pustelnik, regional head of cement sales at FLSmidth. “We have invested heavily in acquiring the skills and infrastructure to provide online condition monitoring and securely manage and analyze our customer data,” concludes Pustelnik.
The agreement gives Titan full access to FLSmidth’s extensive technical and process know-how and support services, covering the entire plant operation; from on-site plant inspections and remote support to sustainability audits and training. FLSmidth is set up to provide everything a plant management team needs to optimize plant performance while reducing energy consumption and maintenance costs.
