It was fantastic during the week: on Tuesday, the doctor from the canton of Lucerne quarantined the entire Ukrainian delegation at the Radisson blu hotel in Lucerne – after a single player tested positive for corona virus.
One reason: that a total of nine members of the Ukrainian delegation had been infected in the past few days. The decisive international match against Switzerland has been canceled, where it is a question of relegation from the Nations League.
Test for 40 men – all negative
Now the Ukrainian delegation has returned home on Wednesday. And when you arrived in the capital Kiev, the approximately 40 men (without the positive corona cases) were tested again. VIEW learned: every single test was negative.
The Ukrainians will feel confirmed that they have met the UEFA requirements (13 healthy players).
When UEFA decides the forfeit defeat, the draw or the rescheduling of the match remain open. And it is also clear: after the decision, there will still be an appeal option. The national team expects a forfeit victory for Switzerland.
