Natalie Portman to fight cancer as Mighty Thor

The actress has revealed important details of the fourth installment of the Marvel saga about the god of Asgard.

Natalie Portman, who will star in the fourth episode of the Marvel saga about the god of Asgard, has revealed new details of the long-awaited movie, called Thor Love and Thunder.

Scheduled for February 18, 2022, the film directed by Taika Waititi will have in the cast – in addition to Portman in the role of Jane Foster – Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie) and Christian Bale; new villain of this edition.

The American actress was absent in the previous film, but her return for this new part of the saga as Goddess of Thunder has been confirmed. And the main question lay in the main topic.

Portman has confirmed several decisive aspects, such as the fact that, in fact, she will be the Mighty Thor of the homonymous comic and that her character will fight cancer in a story that will mix Waititi’s humorous tone with more serious issues.

“I can’t tell you much, but I’m very excited. I’m starting to train and build muscle (…) It’s based on the graphic novel Thor: Goddess of Thunder. She’s undergoing cancer treatment and she’s also a superhero.” Portman said in a recent interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

The crux of this story is that when she wields Thor’s hammer (the Mjolnir for being Mighty Thor), she stops suffering from the disease, although when she goes back to being Jane Foster, the disease gets worse.

Furthermore, Portman assured that he will not simply be a Thor in a female version, but that he will have his powers: “He is not exactly the same as Thor. It’s his version. And it’s called Mighty Thor, ”he confirmed.

It should be remembered, however, that he will not replace Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, but that both can be Thor and fans will be able to see the two superheroes sharing a screen.

Filming is expected to begin in January 2021, as the main cast is already in Australia to prepare for production.
