The inns in Germany are currently all closed, but this week you can get an unusual look at five restaurants in the region, even from the sofa: The program “Mein Lokal, dein Lokal” is in Nuremberg, Fürth, Lauf and Wendelstein as a guest.

The concept of the program is simple: five restaurateurs get together one after the other for five days, and every day a host invites the other four to his restaurant, where they strive to evaluate. The restaurateurs naturally observe the other establishments closely. Whoever receives the most points from his fellow campaigners at the end of the week wins the “Gold Plate”. Television chef Mike Süsser leads the format and supports the candidates.

Operations manager Jan Dullo (53) started Monday with his restaurant “Bruderherz” on Luitpoldstrasse in central Nuremberg. Victory of the week should bring him home-brewed beer, a modern and cozy atmosphere and of course Franconian cuisine with a modern twist. Jan Dullo is particularly proud of the small brewery in the restaurant’s cellar, where the team produces two types of beer.

On Tuesday, the owner Peter G. Rock (58) invites you to his “Winery” on the Kleinreuther Weg in Nuremberg. The name says it all, with wines from all over the world taking center stage. Guests can choose from around 800 bottles and 60 open wines. The concept is complemented by delicacies from the Mediterranean region and cattle from our herd. Fresh Mediterranean cuisine: the team prepares everything by hand, including pasta.

TV Chef Rosin: 30 percent of restaurateurs will close.

In the middle of the week, Mike Süsser and the competition leave the Noris and head to the city of shamrocks. The “Mio Mio Restaurant” is run by the co-owner Christian Moritz (40) for the sake of TV 1860 Fürth. Will Moritz and his team be able to deliver on the promise of “homemade Italian food”?

The Nuremberg “Winery” is also part of the television program “Mein Lokal, dein Lokal”.

Thursday goes back to the country, it will be traditional. The “Waldgasthof am Letten” founded in 1971 in Lauf an der Pegnitz was taken over in 2010 by the managing director and chef Michael Wittmann (48). After working in star kitchens in England and Spain, however, he hasn’t turned the concept upside down, but has instead let the finesse he has learned to flow into the classic home cooking.

For the weekly finale, the contemplative Wendelstein and the “St. Wolfgang Stuben” await the participants in the food competition. 31-year-old head chef and CEO Bastian Gebhardt is the youngest guest of the group, but he too has already cooked his stimuli in starred cuisines both nationally and internationally. The last day must demonstrate what it is made of.

With whom will the gold plate be enough? The “Franken-Staffel” runs until Friday 20 November, every day at 5:55 pm on Kabel Eins.

Franconia is the home of beer. No wonder, because the region has the highest density of breweries in Europe. Around 300 breweries in Central, Upper and Lower Franconia create a unique variety of beer.
