The council of the Carberry Plains museum is trying to raise funds, so the work can be completed on what is known as the gingerbread house.
Museum council co-president Gloria Mott says the brick house that looks like a gingerbread house is one of only two in western Canada. "We bought the house over the years & # 90 and we worked on repairs, our next project is to fix the veranda and that's what we're looking to raise money for now."
Mott says they are not sure what the final cost will be, but they've got a grant, but they have to raise matching funds. "We hope to collect a few thousand dollars to help cover the cost of labor."
The next group meeting will be a concert to raise funds on Sunday 2 December at the Carberry & # 39; s Community Hall.
"The Strathclair theater choir will perform. The show starts at 19:00 and tickets are available at the door," said Mott.
The museum council hopes that the works can take place in 2019.
