Motorola is preparing to face two big players in the mobile phone industry. Samsung and Huawei already have their own desktop mode on the market with which they create the integration of their ecosystem.
Motorola puts all its strength into Android 11 and will bring its desktop mode to users, but only on a range of select phones. Unlike Huawei and Samsung, Motorola wants to protect its power in launching its desktop mode.
Motorola will be launching its next phones with Android 11 and this is where Motorola Desktop is hiding. During the Qualcomm conference, where they launched the Snapdragon 888, Motorola confirmed that their brand would be among the first to implement this processor in 2021.
The brand emphasized the Moto G line. So much so that it showed a phone very similar to the Moto G 5G Plus we have on the market. It could be its successor that will arrive with Android 11.
In any case, the demonstration made it clear that with a simple USB cable connected to the PC, we can normally use our Motorola mobile phone on the PC screen. But in the case of this Motorola It wouldn’t be a simple USB C, but it would be a DisplayPort alternate mode, which is a modification of USB C to allow video output.
It is not excluded that to connect the mobile phone to the PC you simply need the WiFi connection, something similar to what Huawei offers with its interface in desktop mode and its integration, although it only works between mobile phones and business laptops.
Nor do we lose sight of the evolution of the Samsung DeX, which has gone from being a device in which we supported the mobile phone to simply connecting the Galaxy mobile phone and the PC with a USB C cable.

The minimum requirements for using desktop mode should be met. The new generation of Motorola Moto G will bring next-generation Snapdragon processors, between 6 and 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage, although there may be a higher version, aside from a good battery and Android 11.
It is important that the terminal is powerful as standard so that you can move several screens at the same time, for example opening Gmail, watching a video on YouTube, chatting on WhatsApp Web and browsing profiles on Instagram. It’s a waste of resources that no cell phone could deal with.
Everything indicates that 2021 is full of news, and not just with Motorola and its desktop mode, but with everything that the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor will offer us.
