Moto3 FT2: result

14:19

Moto3 FT2: Masia with the best session time

Eventually, Jaume Masia overtook Sergio Garcia and set a new session record with 1: 38.479 minutes. But it doesn’t quite come close to Tony Arbolino’s track record in the first free practice.

Stay ahead in the overall standings, followed by Masia and Garcia. Deniz Öncü and Romano Fenati are fourth and fifth thanks to their best FT1 times. Behind them are Niccolo Antonelli, Tatsuki Suzuki, Raul Fernandez, Ai Ogura and Jeremy Alcoba. World Cup leader Albert Arenas is 15th after two trainings.

14:15

Moto3 FT2: Garcia close

Half of the field is now faster than in the morning. And Arbolino’s course record is increasingly in danger. Sergio Garcia is only 0.083 seconds away. In this session he is the new front runner ahead of Antonelli and Fernandez.

But they all still have a quick lap.

14:12

Moto3 FT2: it’s getting faster

In the final stage, the pace accelerates again. Antonelli sets the best time at 1: 38.563 minutes, Fernandez and Kunii are his pursuers. Many red sector top times are now flashing in the time monitor, so we should still see some increases.

14:08

Moto3 FT2: Kofler in tenth place

The two CIP-Green-Power pilots are now also working together – and successfully. Darryn Binder is the new runner-up and Moto3 rookie Maximilian Kofler has worked his way up to 10th in the slipstream. This also increased his FT1 time.

In the overall standings, however, this only means 24th place, as this session is even slower than the first free practice. But that could change in the last few minutes.

13:59

Moto3 FT2: perfectly positioned

Arenas reloaded again and finished second. Antonelli also improves, directly in the wake of the World Cup leader, who increases his best time to 1: 38.786 minutes. Both now separate a whopping 0.447 seconds.

13:57

Moto3 FT2: more arenas

Not much is happening in the charts at the moment. Only World Cup leader Albert Arenas made a leap forward and is now fifth. If not, the drivers work on their race pace or consult their crew in the pits.

In the meantime, we learned that Filip Salac had to stay put for the rest of the weekend due to a wrist injury. Get well soon.

13:52

Moto3 FT2: even slower session

And once again the top has changed: Antonelli takes 0.090 seconds from Vietti and takes the lead. The two are the only drivers who have so far been able to increase their FT1 times. The session is even slower overall. In the general classification Antonelli and Vietti would therefore not be among the top 14.

13:47

Moto3 FT2: first close range

Vietti relegated his teammate to second place and reduced the best time to 1: 39.239 minutes. And Tony Arbolino also overtakes Migno and is second again. The first 3 are separated by just 0.036 seconds. Behind him are Fenati, Antonelli and Foggia.

On the course, Sunday’s wake duels are rehearsed in larger groups.

13:43

Moto3 FT2: VR46 duo at the top

The drivers quickly catch up. After one or two flying spins, some are already writing 1:39 times. The VR46 duo takes the lead in formation flight: Andrea Migno sets a best time of 1: 39.275 minutes, which is one thousandth faster than Celestino Vietti.

Let’s remember: in the morning they both clashed unhappily.

13:36

Moto3 FT2: dark clouds

Second training sessions are scheduled and the sky has continued to cloud over. But it’s still dry and we hope it stays that way. In the morning Tony Arbolino was the fastest on the track with a new lap record of 1: 38-413 minutes.

Filip Salac, who is undergoing a more thorough medical examination, must stay out after his fall in FT1.

Moto2 FT1: two accelerations in the first 3

In the end, Luca Marini made his leap forward and came within 0.025 seconds of Jorge Navarro’s best time, who remained the first classified. Teammate Fabio Di Giannantonio climbs to third place in the final attack. It is also just 0.087 seconds from the top.

Sam Lowes finished fourth ahead of Marcel Schrötter and Hector Garzo. Aron Canet moved up to seventh place on the last lap. Lorenzo Baldassarri, Enea Bastianini and Tom Lüthi close the top 10, separated by just 0.305 seconds.

12:32 pm

Moto2 FT1: Pons-Duo increases

The two Pons riders climb: first Lorenzo Baldassarri improves to seventh, then teammate Hector Garzo climbs to third. Otherwise there are currently no large outliers to the upside. Navarro’s best time is still there. The last five minutes of training will show if anyone can reduce it.
